James A. Conaway

Vice President of I.T.

In his position at Lodging Hospitality Management, James Conaway is responsible for all aspects of information systems, programming and internet development and design for the entire company.

In the years of emerging internet access, Conaway was a key member of the data network team at GTE. This group operated and controlled GTE’s national data backbone in 24 states. Some of his major projects were with Dream Works, the State of Illinois, University of South Florida and the State of Ohio. The State of Ohio project was awarded the Bronze Award at GTE, which is the 3rd highest award given in the company.

In addition, he has held prominent positions with Verizon Network Service, Phoenix Networks/MegaPath Network, Fitz and Floyd, Inc., and others. Conaway’s portfolio includes developing corporate email servers and managing all network security and firewalls. Using his talent and creativity, he directed hi-tech programs, such as the deployment of point of sale computers and designing retail networks and was the administrator of core network backbone switches. He also managed all upper level network engineering issues for a nationwide DSL provider and operated corporate PBX’s and Voice Mail systems.
